It has been an exciting 12 months for us here at smart South West. Not only have we welcomed in a collection of innovative new releases but we brought you the South West’s first ever SMARTathlon. We also feel very lucky to have developed some special local collaborations.
The first new arrival of the year came in the form of the new smart electric drive. Available in the fortwo coupé and cabrio as well as the forfour, this release allowed smart to be the first manufacturer worldwide to offer electric capabilities across its entire range.
During 2017, Plymouth College of Art students were asked to create special edition exteriors for our fortwo and forfour models. The winning designs were created by now-graduated Sarah Court. Seen here, her striking one-of-a-kind fortwo model went on sale at the end of the year.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with the College into 2018 as 2nd year Creative Advertising students have already started a semester centring on the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
In August we launched our first dedicated website. This allows us to provide up-to-date information from your nearest dealerships and bring you localised offers and service updates. There is also a dedicated business portal for those who utilise the smart range on a commercial basis.
This year Disturbing London, the 360 entertainment company founded by Dumi Oburota and Tinie Tempah, and smart have, together, created two unique smart BRABUS fortwo models.
Taking inspiration from this collaboration, smart have produced a limited number of smart BRABUS sport fortwo coupé and forfour Disturbing London editions. These include rose gold accent details, creating a striking, stylish and dynamic appearance to the interior and exterior of the cars. Find out more here.
One very rainy Saturday in early September, nearly one hundred of you joined us at Dartmoor Zoo for the very first SMARTathlon. You were invited to take part in some special smart trials and could take a look at a host of our newest models, including the smart electric drive.
With a large amount of events already booked for next year, we look forward to seeing you out and about across the South West during 2018.
